This thing is a dream to drive. At the Ennis FFW, I turned up the boost to 25psi and let it fly in True Street. Unfortunately, the car rocked forward when I got into the stage beam and put it on the transbrake and gave me a redlight!!!! So I didn't get a time. But seat of the pants tells me it was a 9.0 pass or better on 28x11.5 Hoosier Quick Time Pros. I then went back and ran a 9.50 at 143mph getting out of it because I thought I'd blown a head gasket. Turns out the coil wire had fallen on a header. Three weeks ago, Murillo and I went to the track in San Antonio with the boost back at 18psi so we could get direct comparisons to when we were there before. Leaving at 10psi/4000rpm resulted in 1.42 60 foots carrying the wheels 1 foot up past the 60ft mark. Ran a 9.30, 9.29, and 9.31 on back to back passes only filling up the ice tank. This was on the same QTPs. I'm going to try and get every thing put back together so I can go out to the Clash of the Titans race in mid November and see if I can put it in the 8s.

Interesting night at the track on Friday. It was about 95 degrees and 90% humidity after all the rain that central texas got last week. MISERABLE! We found some interesting problems. Even with 800rpm more stall speed(4000 now), the car would only make 6psi on the transbrake after sitting on it for 3 seconds. Then it would gradually ramp up from there to 14-15psi at about 6300rpm. It would leave perfectly, though. The rearend stay neutral, the front end lifted about a foot in the air, and then it'd bog to a 1.56 60ft. A BOG ON DRAG RADIALS! hehehe. Watching it from behind, you could definitely tell that it was transferring the weight much easier off the front end while the rear was pushing the car forward instead of up. Simply put, it needs more power. Unfortunately, this is going to cause us to not have a direct comparison. It's still 60 footing the same right now, but is bogging. With 3psi less boost than before, it ran a 9.70 at 143. That's also in 25 degree warmer weather and 40% more humidity than last time. We thought about cranking the boost up to 25 and seeing what it would do, but wanted to work out the problems with spool up first. If I can get it to spool up, I don't think it'll have a problem sticking 10psi or so with the way it was leaving.

7/15/02 Went to the track for some shakedown runs so we could start tuning the new FAST unit. Didn't get to leave off the transbrake, just wanted some datalogs. Even leaving at idle and rolling into the throttle, it went a 9.70 and was straight as a string. Very stable feeling on the big end.

Hope to get to the track Friday and Saturday for some real launches.
