| Updates: 10/29/06 Kevin, Hey we went to the track for a little testing. Well we only got to make 1 pass and lost a headgasket. Not sure why really the data log shows the air to fuel was rich so it must have been a gasket problem. Anyhow we upped the boost a little and took off softer going to work our way up as the day went on. The first pass was to be run little further than 1/8 mile and shutdown and see how the new Strange brakes worked. Then the second pass was to be all out if the brakes went well. This pass was on m/t DR's 275/60/15's with 14lbs of air and taking off at 4000rpms. Also the car has a glide with 3.27 gears: 60' 1.405 330' 3.886 1/8 5.983 @ 116.89 1000' 7.817 1/4 9.526 @ 117.19. As you can see we hit the brakes hard lol.. |
| Kevin, Finally made it to the track. Lost the trans or the convertor: First pass taking off at 3000 6.37@114 and change Second pass launch 4000 6.10@115 and change turning little rpm and only 4lbs of boost went 1.48 60' Last pass steped it up some, launched 4500 went 6.15@115 and change. Went 1.40 60' car was going to run a high 5 I am sure, but when I shifted to second gear it was like I never did. It either blew right through the convertor or the powerglide is slippin and this was on 5 lbs of boost. Air to fuel was rich as well. Needed to lean on it LOL. This was the first 3 shakedown runs and done this on M/T Drag Radials 275/60/15's.. This thing is going to haul the mail. It picked the wheels up a little. I will send you the videos when my buddy gets them done. I am so happy with the car taking off. I know I am not sitting the world on fire, but no turbo car kicks major ass in 60'. I have no doubt it will run 5.50's with 15-20lbs of boost and there is more left in the tank. I have a thought though. The car seems much more stable now than before. Do you think it could be the track locator? I mean the track was shitty for most people, but Kevin my shit hooked and went. Call me tomorrow I want to talk to you. Thanks Bernard Newton |
