Here
are the times...
First pass was 6.74 @ 104.4 with a 1.536 60 ft. I
didnt do a good burn out on the new tires and left
at 4000 off the trans brake. It spun the tire.
Now the second pass I did a good burnout and upped the
rpms to 4500 off the brake. It went 6.660 @104.9mph with
a 1.473 60ft.
All passes after this on I did good hard
burn outs and I upped the launch to 5000 rpm!
Here it goes...6.629 @ 105.4 with 1.445 60 ft.
>>6.600 @ 105.6mph with 1.447 60 ft.
>> 6.622 @ 105.3mph with 1.444 60 ft.
>> 6.597 @ 105.5mph with 1.428 60 ft.
>> and the final pass netted me the best ET
and mph ever in the mules history 6.575 @ 105.970 mph
with a 1.435 60 ft.
It seemed the harder I left off the brake the
more it liked it. I was going to up the
launch rpm to 5500 just to see what would happen 1 pass
but eliminations started and I didnt want to change
anything from there. Here is some more info.... I made it to the quarter
finals!
You have given me a competitive car back it seems. I now
can tune some more HP out of the engine and I'm sure
there is another tenth in the current race gas
set-up. The mph was incredible! The car
matched the 60's of the best night I had earlier this
year and actually beat the best with the 1.42!!!!!!!! The
springs and everything seemed to be settling every pass
made and getting better. It would pull the tires about
15" or so for the length of the car and set it right
back down but it didnt seem to unload the tires as far as
I could feel in the seat of my pants. I am very pleased
with the results thus far!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still think
there is more to be had. Hopefully I will see the
1.39 60 before the end of the season. ...Anyway here
is a BIGGGGG THANKKKKK YOUUUU for getting the car back to
hooking and WOW at 5000RPM off the brake. I think it
still wants MORE!

Kevin,
The car is hooking like crazy. I got some New best for
you....and >>>Take a note of the
consistancy<<<
These 60ft times are in the order that was run on Friday
Oct 14th. Here they are (Tires at 8.5psi).... 1.376....
1.376...1.376.... 1.501....1.503-----------(I
added 1psi air for top end stability to
9.5psi)>>>1.381...1.383... 1.395. Here
is some cazy details.....those 1.50's WERE WITH THE BACK
TIRES TRIPPING THE BEAMS!!!!!!!!! WHOOO HOOOOO! The
car was doing major wheel stands every pass! I
have paint off the bottom of the rear Valence to prove
it.LOL I am definitly going to get some adj struts
before the next season. I was leaving at 5300 on the
first 5 passes and 5000 on the last 3. I had to tame
it down so it wouldn't lift so high...unbelievable!
I still ended up at the Quaterfinals but as luck would
have it.. my Battery went totally dead unexpectidly. That
is racing i guess you win some and lose some. I
guess at this point Im going to need to keep it on the
ground and still pull those 60ft times so my E.T. don't
suffer from all the wasted motion.
BTW, E.T's were low to mid 6.40's 1/8. My nephew wasnt
there and I had no one to shoot any pics. What a bummer.
Like I said the missing scratched up paint is the proof.
LOL BTW....One more note. The
car tracked STRAIGHT as an ARROW while on 2 wheels. With
your help and knowledge I'm assured I set it up correctly
at this point!
Thanks

Hey Kevin, I
got another update for you and Im ecstatic. Pulled
a 1.392 60ft last night>>>>HELL
YEA!!!!!! Any how it pulled several
1.40-1.42 and the 1.39. BTW, on the 1.39 pass I upped the
launch from the brake from 5000 up to 5300, 8.5psi
in slicks all night, track conditions WAS
NOT the best I've seen this year. The lower pressure
helped!......I still have roughly 400 rpm left to test
with until Im leaving right off the
converter....but it responded to more RPM as you said it
would. IT LIKED IT! That suspension is
awesome for my stang the way the combo is at this
time. But I definitely need to ditch those 90/10s for
some adjustables to control the front end rise better. It
was Yanking damn hard again all night.
Later, Thomas
Update:
6/24/05
Just the meat of the facts
are a NEW BEST again.......1.402 60 ft but had a GIANT
wheelie. I will write you back at a later time with full
details.
Later Thomas........
BTW, that damn 1.39 or better is still eluding me... But
I now belive I must be still turning those tires a bit
evedently cause I changed NOTHING and it stood WAY
up......I m puzzeled.
Update:
5/7/05
NEW BEST for the mule. 6.42
@ 107.9 with 1.41 60ft. It
happened last night. I'll get back with you and fill you
in with all the GOODIES!!!!! Damn look at that
mph.......the car was hauling ass...PERIOD. Those damn
iron Windsor Srs are making a big impression on the local
racers....they cant belive im running those #s with those
heads.
......I have (my) tranny back in with (my) same
convertor(5600 8"). If you remember my
tranny was puking fluid at the end of the season(
tranny guy said the pump bolts backed off and lost seal
after inspection over the winter) and I put my
nephew Josh's tranny and convertor in for the last 2
outings in the fall with the best of 6.57 @ 105.9(8"
5700) with his trans. It was softer out of the hole
with 1.45-6 60fts with his stuff. Fast forward to
Friday night... Off the trailer it went 6.56
@105.945 with a 1.481. This was with 10.5 psi of air
in tires. I got alot of wheel spin! Next pass was
with 10 psi of air it immediatly responded with a
1.439 60ft and 6.51 @ 106.638 . I still felt it
spin a bit. Next pass changed nothing and went 6.52 @
106.679 still wheel spin but a 1.438 out of the opposite
lane. At that point I dropped to 9.5 IMMEDIATE
RESPONSE... 6.46 @107.576 with a 1.416 60ft. Felt like it
dead hooked. My partner said it packed the wheels evenly
at the height of the guardrail from launch till just past
the christmas tree. I was thrilled. Next pass
changed nothing went 1.412 60ft damn hard launch
as previous pass but it pulled me to the wall I tried to
drive thru it but as it got over and hit the
loose trash it hit the rev limiter and then
immediatly hooked back up andthru me back in the groove.
It still went a 6.46 but @106 from the roller coaster
ride. But it actually kept me from breaking out for the
round win..LOL Next pass it
went>>>>>>>6.421 @107.98
with a little less 60 ft at 1.421. Well I went
-0.013 red on that launch for a loss and was not
able to make any more passes but I feel CONFIDENT it will
see 6.3's with the current Iron Windsor Sr set up while
using race gas. But i do plan to switch to alky sometime
this season. I just want to capitalize on what Im doing
as is first.. ..all launches were at 5000rpm off the
t-brake.
